Our Story & Mission

It started with a single bite

In 2018, John Lecy tried his first Tater Keg and fell in love — golden, crispy, and stuffed with goodness, it was something he knew he had to share with the world.

But Greater Tater was never going to be just about the food. John saw the chance to build it with his son Chas and Chas's childhood friend, David — and when John and Sheryl launched the trailer in 2024, Chas and David were at the center of it.

David has Down syndrome, and he's a big part of what makes Greater Tater what it is. Stop by the window and there's a good chance he's the one welcoming you.

Our mission: Greater Tater exists to create meaningful work for adults with Down syndrome and people of all abilities. Our faith is at the heart of it — we believe the love of Jesus lives inside each one of us, and that meaningful work lets that light shine.
